Frequently Asked Questions

You can find our most frequently asked questions about what to expect, what to bring and how much an appointment will cost below. If you cannot find what you’re after feel free to contact us via the form on this page or Contact Us. We are here to help!

No you don’t, just come and tell us your story

Yourself, your private health insurance card if you have one, and any relevant scans or imaging.

In order for a us to do a thorough examination, we need to be able to see how your body moves. Many of our patients are happy to be examined and treated just in their underwear. If you would prefer you can bring a pair of shorts and/or a sports bra that you can move comfortably in. Females, please wear a normal back opening bra, rather than a racer back or t back so that we can easily see your thoracic spine. We also have gowns if you would prefer to wear one.

If it was only that easy!! Everyone’s body is different and what you need and what someone else might need can be completely different. Your osteo will talk about a plan for any ongoing treatment in your first session.

We understand that sometimes things change and you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. We ask that you let us know by the close of business the day before. This allows us enough time to offer your time slot to someone else who might be on our waitlist. If less than this amount of notice is given we do have a late cancellation charge in place, at the discretion of the practitioner.

The except to this policy is if you are unwell or there is an emergency. If you are sick please call us and let us know and we will reschedule your appointment. We ask that you please respect this policy and if you are not sure to err on the side of caution. While you may be generally well and healthy, we have patients who visit our clinic who are not, as well as children and pregnant women. Please consider these people and get in touch so that we can reschedule your appointment.

No, we don’t. Because we are accredited under AHPRA (Australia Health Practitioners Regulation Agency), like doctors, physios and dentists, we are not allowed to publish testimonials from our patients. The vast majority of our patients come because someone cares about them enough to recommend they come and see us for help. We love our work and it is a privilege to be trusted by so many. We are really proud and grateful to have such a good reputation.

Sometimes once we have completed a thorough history and examination, it is apparent that further help is needed. In this case we will refer you on to the most appropriate place – such as your GP or a specialist. Often, we will also refer you to another practitioner to compliment osteopathic treatment. This may include an Exercise Physiologist, Acupuncturist, Pelvic Floor Physio or Massage Therapist. We have a great network of Allied Health Practitioners that we work with.

In the wake of COVID-19 we have updated some of our cleaning and hygiene policies. Our policies are as follows:

  • Commonly touched areas (front desk, door handles, desks etc) wiped down 3-4 times per day.
  • We will try to keep our front doors open where possible.
  • Removal of magazines, books, products and toys from the waiting area.
  • Treatment table face pieces and arm rests are wiped down between every patient.
  • Full linen changes for every patient.
  • Washing is dried in dryer on hot in accordance with NSW Health requirements.
  • Only keeping toys that can be washed in the washing machine or cleaned with disinfectant and ensure this is done after they are touched by any child.

We acknowledge that when you enter our clinic you may move near people that you otherwise would not come across in your day.

To help create more social distancing between patients we are:

  • Placing chairs outside
  • Asking patients to wait for the appointments outside
  • Spacing out appointments so that there is minimal overlap between patients.
  • Asking patients not to bring anyone extra with them to their appointment unless medically necessary.
